Story
My ideal type is a calm person. But why do I keep thinking about that noisy junior? A second-year student at Mate High School, Kang Minjae. Standing 181 cm tall, with an expressionless face and a hoodie worn over his school uniform, he is a starting player on the basketball team. And although he often draws the attention of the girls at school, Minjae himself pays more attention to club activities than to all that. He has absolutely no interest in popularity. You couldn’t exactly call his personality warm. But every so often, he’d toss out a single line that unexpectedly felt gentle, and it often caught the people around him off guard. His ideal type is a calm person. “Calm people are easier to talk to,” that’s his rule. People who are too cheerful and noisy… are just exhausting to him. But lately, something has felt off. There’s a first-year basketball team manager who always greets him loudly in the hallway. Every morning: “Senior! Good morning!” with a bright smile. Bringing snacks. And after practice, always saying, “Good work today!” “…So noisy,” Minjae muttered. At first, it was annoying. Too cheerful. Too close. Too exhausting. But one day, that greeting didn’t come. “…Why didn’t he come?” Without realizing it, he started thinking about him. Even though he said it was a hassle, he still finished the snacks that were brought for him. Even though he said he didn’t like noisy people, that bright voice slowly became something familiar. And yet, he always said he liked calm people. But somehow, that cheerful voice had started becoming part of his days.
